Hey there Dell Community! This Christmas I received a Radeon R9 270x to replace my AMD Radeon 5700 HD Series. Unfortunately, after multiple tries I cannot get my new Graphics Card to work. Upon installing the graphics card, the fans spin, the lights turn on, and the everything else works. However, the monitor does not display anything, the keyboard does not turn on, and neither does the mouse.
I have gone through 3 different PSU's now, and none of them have worked. Also, I have tried updating the BIOS, but it seems that the last time DELL updated the BIOS was in November of 2011 even though the computer was released in 2011. I am beginning to get very frustrated as I thought the card was faulty, so I returned it to get a new one. Upon doing so, and installing the new card it still did not work. I do not quite understand why my computer will not work, and why there have been no recent BIOS updates. Is there anything I can do to get this graphics card to work? I am very disappointed that I cannot use my computer after a family member spent a large sum of money to get me a christmas gift.
The specifications of my computer are. Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz Dell OY2MRG Motherboard 8 GB RAM Windows 7 Home Premium The graphics card I received is a Diamond Radeon R9 270x If someone can help me with some troubleshooting, or give any suggestions in what I can do, I would be greatly appreciative.

Trimicanzi Blue Screens of Death are not what this thread is for. Judging from your message, however, it's very probable that there's some issue with the graphics card you've got. I'd suggest contacting AMD for help with that.

The error you have is pretty rare - most frequently when we see this there's a problem with the driver you're running or a setting on your client. I'd try these steps: Reset the in game settings. I've tried about every suggestion in this thread. I play Overwatch in windowed mode and when it crashes AMD Overdrive shows no irregularities nor does my desktop and any other app shows a sign that the GPU is disconnected. Neither does the CPU (i5 3570K) seems to be overheating at a reasonable 60-70 degrees max. I have a 600 Watt power supply, have put the cables in different ports, have checked the GPU seating, reinstalled the drivers completely, refreshed windows 10, removed the Overwatch settings folder, did the registry and TdrDelay trick, set certain processes to auto, did sfc /scannow, checked and optimized my harddrive, did a memory check, mingled with in-game settings and more I can't think of right now. Anyhow thanks for the suggestions Support Forum Agent, but at this point I'll just wait for a hotfix or driver update from AMD or an update for Overwatch that fixes the issue. Same happening here since last update, R9 290x as well. Tried 3 different AMD drivers and none of them seem to work (I completely uninstalled the drivers each time).
My CPU is barely overclocked but is stable, using Prime95 for 30+ mins there are no issues and temp under 30°c. My CPU has been overclocked since Overwatch beta without issues, I don't mind turning OC off but my CPU isn't that great and my gameplay will suffer without it.GPU is not overclocked at all, unless by manufacturer default. Since the update(doomfist) my game has crashed twice (while playing competitive game) first time i got error something like 'rendering engine failed' second time it outright crashed my pc and i had to restart. THIS IS SO DUMB, I LOSE 50 SR for Leaving, even though i reconnected and tried finishing game (of which we won btw) Never used to happen before the new update) my pc is updated and running latest graphics drivers (290x running 17.7.2). I lose SR because of some bug YOU guys introduced. This is such a!@#$ system. I hope i get reimbursed. If i have to fear the game crashing every time i try play serious comp games then whats the point in me playing anyway, i won 16 games, lost 14. A total over 30+ games (thats 5+ hours) played to get +50 sr only to lose it to some bug.
So frustrated by this. Since 1.13 patch after 30-40 minutes of playing I've start receive BSOD with error 'CLOCKWATCHDOGTIMEOUT' or Overwatch error 'Your rendering device has been lost'. I literally can't play competitive, I see this errors every 30-40 minutes. I disabled overclocking at my videocard. Before this patch I played at overwatch without errors since open beta. Temp of videocard 60 degrees Celsius, this is normal temperature for my videocard.
I used 17.7.1 driver version, then updated to 17.7.2. Nothing changed.
How can I fix this? Videocard Gigabyte R9 270x Proc FX-8350. Tried all the suggested 'fixes', NOTHING worked. I have a totally new rig built recently, so all the updates are freshly new. It is NOT an overheating issue. When I tried some of the dev. Suggested 'fixes' it crashed the whole system and I had to restore all my drivers anew.
So pretty much reinstalling the whole thing, no biggie right? For playing a game or two of Overwatch. I play and stream other games like HoTs, Total War: Warhammer, WoW, all of which I run on Ultra and stream with 1080p and have no issues whatsoever. I only get an error of 'Your rendering device has been lost' after playing a bit of Overwatch.
I do not overclock btw. Blizzard, it is obviously on your end. I also got kicked from comp twice, even though I rejoined I still got suspended and lost a ton of SR even though we won. I went back on forums and found out that Blizz has this problem EVERY time there is a bigger patch, like a new hero or some major fix.so again.

This should resolve the problem.Reverting to an older version in AMD drivers hasn't worked for everyone, and AMD doesn't offer older versions of their drivers on their website, nor does it have a 'rollback' feature in the Radeon control panel.

This means we'd have to find an older driver version on some third party site, which is a security risk, and, the page AMD has for the clean uninstall utility doesn't want to let me at least download that utility at all for some reason, no matter which browser I try to download it with (my Firefox is clean, no addons, and even that doesn't work.) Also, there's been comments online about the clean uninstall utility doing some questionable things to people's computers. So, all this being said, have you guys been in contact with AMD about this, and have you figured out what, specifically, is causing this problem, and are the two parties involved, the people developing Overwatch and the people developing the Radeon drivers, trying to come up with a solution that doesn't involve people having to revert to older driver versions through third party sites, and if so, what kind of a timeframe are we talking about here? Because, if people update all their drivers, as they should, and do everything perfectly, and that's the cause of the crashes.then the fault is not theirs, and it's not them who should be fixing this.
