ArcSoft TotalMedia is a Shareware software in the category Audio & Multimedia developed by ArcSoft. It was checked for updates 1,382 times by the users of our client application UpdateStar during the last month. The latest version of ArcSoft TotalMedia is 3.5.28.388, released on. I was able to replicate this on both versions 5 and latest build of version 6. EDIT: It's confirmed, January 2018 Windows Update 100% kills Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre. Since we cannot selectively uninstall updates, the entire 2018-01 Security Monthly Quality Rollup needs to be uninstalled for Arcsoft software to work again.

Yeah it edits the exe of the Blu-Ray player program running in in memory to trick it into thinking the source is being played from original disc. Future updates for the player program could render this useless and turn it into a game of cat and mouse. They come up with a new protection scheme, someone cracks it.
It's always been an endless circle of encrypt and decrypt. I've always said if someone can encrypt something someone else will find a way to crack/hack it. I've run into a bug that is addressed in the latest version of TMT5, but the vast majority of my Blu Ray collection is ripped onto my server and I access it using My Movies. (I have a relatively responsible six-year-old and a three-year old whirlwind of destruction; I am NOT letting them get their hands on a physical disk, LOL.) Does the latest version of AnyDVD HD still 'fix' the Cinavia issue? Are there any other options? If I converted all of my Blu-Ray ISO's to MKVs, would that eliminate the issue while keeping the HD audio? Sorry if these come off as ignorant; I literally haven't had to mess with my Media Center in over year as it's been working perfectly up until now. Feeling a little behind the curve!!! I only use Arcsoft to play physical Redbox/Netflix discs. You can't rip the entire disc (and retain menus ect.); so you'll have to be content with only keeping just the main movie.

Okay, that's not too bad. To that regard I really only need to convert those disks that have Cinavia. My older disks and those without it should continue to work fine I would imagine.
What do you use for conversion, Handbrake? Any preferred settings? Huge blast from the past here, but rather than start a new thread I wanted to put it here as it's applicable.
I've begun converting my Blu Ray rips to MKVs using MakeMKV. I've been keeping the subtitles when I do so. When I test playback with TMT5 on my ripping machine, I am able to enable and disable subtitles correctly. I'm using My Movies 4, so I've basically just been placing the MKV files in the same folders where the ISO was, then launching through Media Center. Works perfectly after I installed the Shark007 codec packs, but the only problem I am having is that in Media Center I don't have any subtitles nor do I have an option to enable them. Edit - OK, set all of the stuff to Sharky's recommended settings. Subtitles are now working in MCE.
Further question - is there any way to make ArcSoft the default player for MKV files? The chapter breaks and ability to enable and disable subtitles seem to be kept with ArcSoft but for whatever reason, whenever it plays through Media Center it treats it as a video (understandable.) I did change the default program for MKV playback to TMT with no effect. I don't think it is possible to get TMT to be the default player for MKV in MCE directly. You could though install the MCE app, MyMovies which does have an external player feature and will allow you to specify an installed player (in your case TMT) for movies with specific file types e.g. I use this for MKV playback and it works real well, in my case I needed to be able to select both subtittles and languages which does not work with the standard MCE player.

Unfortunately this feature is only available in MyMovies if you have at least 1250 points which can be earned or purchased ($50 I believe), well worth it MyMovies is a very good app. Well beyound just this feature, see link. You also might want to check out MediaBrowser as that may also have an external player feature. Ditching that premium cable subscription and bulky television in favor of accessing video content on the PC isn't for everyone, but software solutions like ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre are aiming to make that option more attractive. The multimedia program developer updated its all-in-one media player today, bringing it to version 5 with plenty of new features designed to appeal to early adopters. And what is the hot video feature of the moment? If you guessed 3D, you're right on the money. One of the main focuses of ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 is to incorporate plenty of new 3D functionality. First off, you get support for Blu-ray 3D, which is supposed to offer the most realistic 3D experience for home viewing.
You can also play back native stereo 3D, which includes 3D-DVDs, YouTube 3D files, and 3D videos that are encoded in Left/Right, Up/Down, Anaglyph, and so on. In addition, the app offers something called Sim3D, which uses ArcSoft's in-house technology to simulate 3D viewing for 2D photo slideshows and DVD movies. The technology provides 3D depth restoration as well as adjustable depth perception, and it lets you switch between 2D and 3D in real time. Perhaps most importantly, the software is compatible with various types of glasses, so you won't have to worry about purchasing a new pair just to work with the program. Although not as up-and-coming as 3D, high-definition video viewing is perhaps even more important to most viewers, and TotalMedia Theatre 5 doesn't ignore this point.
The software also has a feature called SimHD. Which upscales standard-def DVDs and video files into 'near HD quality.' I saw a demo of this and can attest that the program does an admirable job increasing the quality of videos. It accomplishes this by balancing overexposed and underexposed areas, reducing image noise, and smoothing out jumpy playback. Of course, any media player these days has to have an online and social aspect. In addition to playing back videos from your own library, TotalMedia Theatre can play back content from YouTube and other online and networked sources.
You can share these videos with your friends via Facebook as well. There's also a mobile feature of sorts, although it's not cloud-based viewing, which may be a shame to some.
Rather, the software offers an app called TotalMedia Remote for Android. It lets you control video playback from the comfort of your couch-an essential feature for any program trying to help you replace your TV with your PC. ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 doesn't come cheap: a license will set you back about $100.
But you don't have to commit to it without trying it out first. The software is available for a 15-day trial period. You can find it until 9 a.m.
